Natural Resources: Timber, hydropower, and arable land remain Dominica's core natural resources. The island's dense tropical rainforests provide a significant timber base, though sustainable forestry practices are increasingly emphasized to protect biodiversity and fragile ecosystems. Dominica's mountainous terrain and abundant rainfall give it strong hydropower potential, and the country has invested in expanding its renewable energy capacity with the long-term goal of becoming the world's first climate-resilient nation. Geothermal energy is also an emerging and substantial resource, with large-scale development projects underway to harness the island's volcanic activity for domestic use and potential export to neighboring islands.
