Shiroka Luka village is built amphitheatrically in a narrow and steep valley of the river Shirokolushka and has existed since the 17th century. It is situated 24km from Smolyan, 100km from Plovdiv and 11km from Pamporovo. The average altitude in Shiroka Luka is 1060m. Numerous houses preserving typical Rhodopean architecture, typical speech and songs and customs of local people have given the village of Shiroka Luka the status of an architectural, ethnographic and folklore reserve.
