Goulash, a stew with potatoes, onion and paprika is popular. Paprika is used in many dishes. Pork and chicken are the most common meats. Kindli (a cookie) is served during Purim by Hungarian Jews. Traditionally, the shape of the cookie resembles little children wrapped in blankets, thus the Yiddish name, Kindli.
Dinner is the main meal. It is impolite to leave food on the plate.
