Diet
Burmese cuisine is not well known internationally. It includes influences from China, India, and Thailand. Rice is the Burmese staple, with vegetables and chicken, pork fresh-water seafood, and mutton often cooked in a curry or soup. Desserts include palm sugar sago, and semolina or rice pudding.
Mealtime
Ngapi, a strong-flavored pickled fish, is eaten at most meals.
