Flag Symbolism | The flag is red, with an inverted isosceles triangle based on the top edge of the flag; the triangle contains three horizontal bands of black (top), light blue, and white, with a yellow rising sun in the black band. The sun symbol is half of a 16-pointed star with outer diameter 30 and inner 15 units The sun represents the dawning of a new era; red - the energy of the people; blue - hope; black, the African ancestry of the people. The combination of yellow, blue, and white represent the sun, sand, and sea. |
