William Henry Harrison

William Henry Harrison was the oldest man to become the president of the United States. Harrison also served the shortest term in office (31 days). At his inaugural ceremonies he caught a cold which turned to pneumonia. He died one month later. He was the first president to die in office.

Harrison was born on a beautiful plantation called "Berkeley". His father wanted him to become a doctor and he studied medicine for a while, but did not like it so he joined the army. He gained fame as an Indian fighter at the Battle of Tippecanoe. There he defeated the famous Shawnee Indian Chief Tecumseh in 1811. Harrison campaign slogan was "Tippecanoe and Tyler, too".
