Flag History

The original idea for the flag came from the Gambia, but the design was prepared by the College of Arms in London.

Flag Symbolism

Gambia is made of three equal horizontal bands of red (top), blue with white edges, and green. The red represents the sun overhead. The light blue represents the Gambia river that flows through the land. The green represents the land. The white stands for unity and peace.
