Lunch is usually a large meal and in some areas the only cooked meal of the day. Dinner a lighter meal and in some areas leftovers from lunch. In the urban areas breakfast is usually baguettes with butter and jam. They do eat with their fingers for some traditional foods but mainly use a knife and fork. In rural areas, people provide much of their own food through fishing and gardening taro, breadfruit, sweet potatoes, and manioc. In larger villages and urban areas, Chinese food is available at the local Chinese-owned general store, and in small restaurants.
