Diet
Breakfast often consists of unleavened bread, or
Kobouz scrambled eggs mixed with noodles. Vegetables, lamb, fish, chicken, and beef are common foods. Because of the Islamic influence pork is forbidden. Many meals include a dish made with basmati rice.
A popular dish is
ghouzi, a chicken stuffed with rice, nuts, onions and shelled hard-boiled eggs which are placed inside a whole slaughtered lamb which is sewn up and cooked on a spit.
Mealtime
Everyone eats out of communal dishes. Usually there is an hour or so before dinner when conservation takes place with no conversation during dinner. After the meal coffee is served and then any guests may leave. Coffee may also be served before the meal as a welcoming for guests.
